La fuerza the Sheccid ( Adriande)
In La Fuerza de Sheccid, Sheccids best friend like Carlos but Carlos likes Sheccid, even though Sheccid doesnt like Carlos. Typical love triangle right? Well In the beginning an inncident with a red car leads adrtiande to believe that Carlos is a very bad guy. But she realizes that she made a snap judgement when Carlos helps her get out o0f being unjustly suspended from school. SAhe know he is in love with her friend so he helps him get the girl, but she offers her friendship incase he ever changes his mind and want to talk to her instead.
Out of My Mind (Book Recommendation)
Out of My Mind , by Sharon M. Draper is a great book, I give it a 10/10. Its is about a 7th grade girl in middle school who is stuck in a wheelchair and has to go through middle school and all the troubles of being a middle schooler. When they let her be in all the classes with the "regular kids" Melony is overjoyed. She is actually....the smartewst kid in class. But when she gets the best grade on a test not even the teachers believe her and all tyhe school kids laugh at her. She hates how she cannot even go to the bathroom by herself at school and how the other kids make her feel. She thinks about quitting, but she doesnt. she realizes not to care what the others think and keeps coming to class and being smart. The kids in her class come to appreciate her and include her in their groups once Melony chooses to be herself and not have self pitty, they espect her. This is a great book I would recommend this to anyone from 6th-9th grade.
La Fuerza de Sheccid (character: Sheccid)
In this story, Carlos's love, Sheccid, who he has liked for a very long time did not even notice him til two months after being in school together. Sheccid is very curt towards Carlos because she thinks he is rude and disrespectful because of the way his peers act. Regardless of her dislike for him, when Sheccid sees that Carlos is thrown out of a car for no sure reason, she runs straight to the telephone poll to call for help. This shows that she cares for others well being even though she is skeptical of them. When Carlos gets out of the hospital she talks to him and makes sure hes alright. Sheccid knows shes beautiful and often plays hard to get and lets Carlos chase her around. When Carlos asks her to be his girlfriend she insists on knowing ghim better and says she will consider it.

David and Goliath (Theme summary)
These past couple weeks I have studied the story of David and Goliath, from the bible. For those of you who don't know the story I will give you a brief summary. Goliath was a big scary giant who every one was scared to go against in a fight because of his enormosy. He was known as too strong for even the strongest soldier in Israel. One day a young boy named David was courageous and decided to go against this "huge giant". Every one laughed at him and thought David...vs Goliath? Impossible, but David was courageous and he believed that anything was possible with God on his side. So when the time came for the two competitors to fight David defeated Goliath before Goliath even had a chance to attack because he took a slingshot and shot him with a rock. The giant fell instantly on the ground. To make sure he had really defeated him for good David took his sword and sliced his head off. That's what happens when one has faith in the mysterious heavenly father and faces ones fears, even though they seem ginormous (hahhah get it..? GI [giant] Normas) one can overcome with the Lord standing over you, guiding you.
La Fuerza de Sheccid (Theme summary)
I have learned a lot of real life lessons from this book I have been reading. In one part of the story Carlos gets in trouble by his dad because he disobeyed him and rode his bike way to late at night and almost got hit by a car. Then his little brother told their father not to scold his older sibling because while he was there tumbling off his bike, he witnessed a car crash. Had he not been there to help the victim he/she could have died. But since Carlos was there, he was able to call the hospital for help and the person survived. The lesson was that sometimes God makes things happen for a reason and that lesson is very true, coming from the wisdom of an innocent child in this true story. God uses all things bad as opportunities to make good things happen.
November Blues - READING SKILLS
In my book November Blues, I find that I have a lot in common with the characters. In one chapter when Jericho joins the football team and is not sure if he made the right decision, I can relate that to how I felt with Cross Country. I can alsorelate to him when he says he's feeling really jumbled up inside and frustrated. When he discribes how exhausted he feels after a practice or how tired he is after sitting in another boring class in Highschool I can relate because I also know how strenous and arduos sports [cross country], and school can be. I can also relate because he was thinking about applying to a performing arts university Juilliard, and I also did a presentation on Juilliard and I thought about going there too. This was a text to self connection because I know how Jericho feels. All these teen troubles are very relatable and thats what makes it such a fantastic book.
Characters
A book I'm reading right now is called La Fuerza de Sheccid. It's in spanish and the main character's name is Carlos. Carlos is a very round character. Whenever he makes a disicion he usually analyzes it and out ways the pros and the cons and whenever he gets stuck his mom is there to help him. But the one time he throws caution to the wind and doesn't trust his instincts, he gets in a huuuuuge conundrum. This problem also gets in the way of Carlos getting his princess Justina "Sheccid" his nickname for her, and he has difficulty getting her affection. His feelings get very confused throughout the book. He tries to be caring, understanding, valient, and thoughtful of others so he can be the best person he can and have alot to offer to win over his princess.
He takes big risks and learns how to be courageous and stick up for what he knows is right. Sofar he has changed from cowardly tocourageous by standing up infront of everyone and giving a speech and also sticking up for himself when the cool kids pick on him. I will have to read more to find out about him. Carlos even gets thrown out of the car at one point by choosing not to be obnoxious like his other "friends" His different emotions and reactions throughout the story make him a very round character.
